Redistribution of Wealth

Breaking News!!! This is a radio interview from 2001 that Matt Drudge and the Drudge report recently found. Obama claims that some of the greatest failures of 1960's civil rights fights was that the Supreme Court 'never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth' and that they were unable to 'break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution.' This is insane! 'Break free from the essential constraints' of 'the founding fathers'????? The founding fathers are the the reason this country is as great as it is! They created the capitalistic system that has fueled our country for centuries. That system is being undermined by "leaders" in our Congress like Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank and YES, Barack Obama. Before you start screaming at me for me "radical views" just listen to the interview. It'll blow your mind...

  1. Here's my two cents. I think that the capitalist system works very well. It personally gives me incentive to be the best that I can be.

From a theoretical perspective, socialism can seem like a idea, but there are two main faults with it; abusers/slackers. In this type of system, there are too many people that would be fine living by living off the hard work of other people. Also, with a lack of incentives/rewards many people would feel less inclined to do better since they would not reap any financial benefits.

Having said that, I support capitalism with the understanding that we should give everyone the opportunity to succeed. Not everyone wants to, but that is just the way things are. In certain instances, we still have to pull others along who are unable/unwilling, but I think that the way the founding fathers have established a system (although by no means perfect) that works better than most any other governments this world has ever known. I strongly disagree with those who look to move our country towards a socialist government.
